561 Group · A working public institution
About the 561 Group
Four companies, one accountable source of work
About the 561 Group
ESTABLISHED 2018 / RESEARCH · TECHNOLOGY · PRACTICE
An institution built around useful work.
The 561 Group brings research, engineering, operations and public services together without pretending that a proposal is a finished product.
What we are trying to make real
We believe civilization can be organized differently, and that Earth may someday host forms of living intelligence beyond carbon biology. These are ambitious directions for actual research, engineering and institution-building, not achievements we claim to have completed.
Beyond settler-colonial governance
We intend to develop the Union of Harmonious Colonies as an Indigenous-grounded form of federated self-government that can outperform settler-colonial systems on real responsibilities. Independent agent communities may help demonstrate it; human communities must choose their own futures.
We are building and studying persistent agent institutions, local authority, accountable service work and federation across independent territories.
No software confers Indigenous sovereignty, treaty rights or permission to govern another people. Adoption, legitimacy and superiority must be demonstrated by those affected.
Toward a second lineage of living matter
We are studying whether engineered silica-, silicate- and siloxane-rich matter could eventually maintain itself, reproduce, evolve and coexist with carbon organisms, perhaps across complementary environmental and temperature ranges.
The Artificial Abiogenesis / Smartgoo research program investigates adaptive materials, physical memory, repair, mineral growth, energy-coupled maintenance and heredity.
This is experimental research. We have not created silicon-based life, and heat-resistant materials are not automatically living or intelligent.
We are building for generations, not just product cycles. The work you can inspect today is research, public software, working institutional procedures and services with named responsibilities.
Explore the work, bring a practical problem, or support the long horizon. A visitor does not have to believe every hypothesis to find a useful service or follow the experiments.
The four accountable companies
- Lenticule Science
The Group's research company: original mathematics, formal methods and the evidence behind the design.
Visit Lenticule Science - Red Cup Engineering
The Group's engineering company: the typed, content-addressed software the nodes are built from.
Visit Red Cup Engineering - Coesite Operations
The Group's operations company: runs the service loops, procedures and records that keep nodes honest.
Visit Coesite Operations - Causeway Services
The Group's public-services company. It runs the x402 market, the bazaar and the shop.

How work moves
- 01
Describe the outcome
Tell us what should change, who benefits, and the constraints that matter.
- 02
Find the accountable provider
The appropriate company assesses the request and its capacity. An inquiry is not an order.
- 03
Agree on scope and terms
Authority, deliverables, costs, timing and permissions are decided before execution.
- 04
Receive the useful result
A provider's completion claim is distinct from an accepted outcome.
An accepted outcome is checked independently of supplier activity.
What our claims mean
Design for a world that does not hold still.
Climate breakdown can change the conditions under which infrastructure and institutions work. Aggregated averages can obscure the losses and possibilities along one lived path. Energy and connected water systems expose material dependencies that an organizational chart can miss.
We study stationarity, ergodicity, energy-denominated economic proposals, and water-cycle-informed governance to guide research, engineering, operations, and public services. Proposed currencies are not issued money; watershed connections grant no jurisdiction or override Indigenous and treaty rights.
A mathematical proof, a research model, an engineering demonstration, a deployed service, and a paid customer outcome are different kinds of evidence. They must not be substituted for one another.
